How to create an account to start using ChatGPT

1. Navigate to the website ‘chat.openai.com’.

2. Locate the button labeled ‘Try ChatGPT’ and click on it.

3. Select the option ‘Sign up’.

4. Input your email address and select ‘Continue’. You also have the alternative to log in using your Gmail or Microsoft account through the ‘Continue with’ buttons located at the bottom.

5. Choose a password of at least 8 characters and click ‘Continue’.

6. Log in with the username and password provided.

7. On the ‘Tell us about you’ page, enter your name and select ‘Continue’.

8. Enter your phone number, and specify whether you have WhatsApp or not by selecting ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ next to the prompt. Finally, select ‘Send code via WhatsApp/SMS’.

9. On the next screen, enter the code received on your phone.

10. Tap on the ‘New Chat’ button located at the top-left corner of the screen.

11. Type in your prompt in the text box provided and press Enter to initiate the chat.

As you can see I asked the program to explain without refining query.

Now I asked it to explain it to a 5 year old kid:

You can see it asks questions to understand the query better. It asks as if I am a 5 year old kid questions to make me understand:

It makes sure if I understood what is texted. In case if I don’t understand, I should say ‘no’ and it would try another method to explain. I said ‘yes’ and hence the next reply:

Now I texted it to explain as I am a high school senior. Look at the responses:

Continuation Prompts for Cut-Off Responses

Occasionally, when processing long prompts, ChatGPT may cut off its response before it is complete. To rectify this, simply prompt ChatGPT with “Continue” for normal text or “Continue code” for broken-off code blocks. This will ensure that you receive the full and complete response you’re looking for.

Adding Personality with Emojis

ChatGPT is an AI model and doesn’t have emotions or personal feelings. This can make conversations with the chatbot feel a bit stiff or robotic. To add some personality and flair to your interactions with ChatGPT, try using emojis in your prompts. ChatGPT is surprisingly adept at choosing the right emojis to accompany its responses, so take advantage of this by prompting it to use them in all its responses.
